Social Animal provides an AI roleplay platform that lets teams improve their interpersonal communication skills. This policy explains how we process personal data when organisations and their employees use Social Animal, and when you visit our website or contact us.
Our role
- On the platform: your employer decides how Social Animal is used and is the controller of the data processed in its account. We act as a processor on its behalf, under a data processing agreement. Your employer’s own privacy notice also applies.
- On our website and in business contacts: Social Animal is the controller.
What we process on the platform
- Account details such as name, work email, role and team, provided by your employer or through single sign-on.
- Audio recordings of your voice during roleplay sessions.
- Video recordings, including facial expressions and body language, if the user chooses to turn on their camera.
- Conversation content and interaction data, such as transcripts, responses and session activity.
- Feedback, scores, certifications and progress over time.
- Company material your organisation adds to build roleplays, such as product information, methodologies and playbooks.
Voice and video recordings
We treat voice and video recordings with extra care. Video is optional: users can practise with their camera off, in which case no video is recorded. Recordings are used only to run roleplay sessions and to generate feedback on visual, vocal and verbal cues. Users are informed before a session is recorded and, where required, asked for explicit consent. Recordings are not shared with third parties except where strictly necessary to provide the service, under the same privacy standards.
How we use platform data
- To deliver roleplay sessions and certification programmes.
- To generate feedback and track progress over time.
- To give administrators and managers the reporting your organisation has set up.
- To provide support, keep the service secure and fix problems.
- To improve the service, using aggregated or anonymised data wherever possible.
We never use customer data to train AI models, and we never sell personal data.

When you request a demo or contact us, we collect your name, work email and job title, so we can reply. If you opt in, we send occasional product updates, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We also collect basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and device, to keep the website running and secure.

If data is transferred outside it, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, where applicable.
How long we keep data
